Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures

The Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk is one of Australia’s premier rainforest experiences. An innovative way to explore and learn about the rainforest of the Illawarra, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW. The Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk allows students to experience the rainforest in comfort and safety, from a variety of educational perspectives.

More than 1,000 metres of ground based walking tracks allow students to investigate the rainforest at ground level. The 500 metre long elevated walkway rises to 25 metres above the forest floor into the canopy of the rainforest offering students the chance to explore the rainforest canopy. The treetop walks’ spiral tower rises 45 metres above the forest floor providing a bird’s eye view of the rainforest and spectacular scenery over the valley below to the coastline. The visitors centre is a perfect place to regroup after the walk and complete worksheets whilst enjoying lunch!

Educational guided tours run for approximately 1.5 hours and take the students on a journey through the various levels of the rainforest. Their guides provide local knowledge of the Flora and Fauna found in and around the rainforest as well as encouraging students to explore the ways that we can protect and conserve the environment we live in.
