Questacon offers a range of experiences for students of all ages designed to spark their curiosity about science, technology, engineering and maths as they discover the smarter way to have fun.
Questacon has two facilities in Canberra – the iconic Centre in the Parliamentary Zone, and The Ian Potter Foundation Technology Learning Centre in Deakin.
Self-guided gallery experience
Questacon in the Parliamentary Zone offers over 200 hands-on experiences in eight themed galleries. Perfect for self-guided exploration, the exhibitions invite interaction and encourage students to ask questions as they explore the science behind our world. Complementing the gallery experience, groups can also book to see the Excited Particles’ daily science shows on a wide range of topics linked to the Australian Curriculum.
Hands-on technology and innovation workshops

The Questacon Maker Project offers free interactive technology and innovation workshops and activities developed especially for year levels 6–12. These two-hour workshops, delivered at The Ian Potter Foundation Technology Learning Centre, support technology education with strong links to the Australian Curriculum. Topics include 3D design, building and programming robots, catapults, and more. The workshops expand students’ lateral and logical thinking and problem-solving.
