The Arboretum features 100 single-species forests collected from around the world on a 250 hectare site featuring lookouts, sculptures, picnic areas and plenty of room to move and learn about preserving biodiversity, linking the trees with challenging and exciting environmental research and focusing on biology and horticulture.
National Bonsai and Penjing Collection – within the National Arboretum
The finest collection of miniature trees on permanent display in Australia. Bonsai and Penjing, styled by some of the country’s finest bonsai artists, are exhibited in a peaceful, purpose built facility.
The changing of the seasons, for which Canberra is renowned, are reflected in these miniature creations.
